In transmission
I turned in a rough cut of my video portrait of Jason Martin, a really neat songwriter-performer-historian-politician from Schenectady who now lives in Troy and is doing incredible work on recording technology, pop, and folk music, community history, transmission, early television and radio, General Electric, and post-industrial cities. The classes’ feedback was very helpful and gave me a good idea of what new footage I’ll need to work on the project further. I’m looking forward to doing more of this in the spring, and will probably put the video in the Spring Grad Show video reel.
With this out of the way, I have a slightly shorter list of things on which to focus — mainly getting my installation ready, putting together the program for the show, and after that’s done, working on my take home final for Electronic Arts Overview and writing an 18-25 page paper for Philosophy of Space in a Digital Culture along the lines of my presentation in November, which I never got around to posting about.
