Poetry
Tonight I wrote all nine poems for my thesis show — in less than two hours.
I’ve been trying to write these poems for the last two months, putting it off because I’ve been feeling insecure about my writing ability. Over the last week, after giving up on writing the story in verse, I wrote out a draft of the narrative in prose. I finished that on Friday. Since then, I’ve known that the next step was transforming the story into Long, Short, and Common Meter verse. I put off writing the verse for a few days, trying to find a text for the Parsons Cove and writing an outline for my written thesis. I knew I had to start writing today. But wow! I didn’t think I’d write them all.
I have to have all of my songs done by a week from Sunday, and thanks to my productivity tonight, I have a couple of days to revise the texts before I get to work on the music!
